Asked before most jobs

Will it damage paint, chrome or rubber?

No. Dry ice is softer than the surfaces it is used on, and the contact is too brief to chill rubber or plastic through. Sound paint stays put. Flaking, failed paint comes off, which is usually what you want.

Is there any mess?

Only the dirt itself. The pellets turn to gas, so there is no water, sand or chemical left behind. For heavy oil or soot we lay sheeting to catch what falls and take it away.

Can I bring the work to you?

Yes, and for anything portable it is usually the better option. The unit is on Chapel Farm Industrial Estate in Cwmcarn. Drop-off is by arrangement, so call or message first.

How long does a job take?

A full engine bay is typically two to four hours. A classic underbody and engine can take about a day. Machinery, fire damage and buildings are priced after a look, in person or from photographs.

Do you need power or water from me?

Neither. The van carries its own diesel compressor and the dry ice. Indoors, we run the air hose in from outside.

Is it safe to be nearby?

Yes, with two conditions. It is loud, so we wear hearing protection and keep people back. In an enclosed space the gas needs ventilation, which we arrange before we start.

Does it remove rust?

It removes coatings, dirt and loose corrosion sitting on the surface. Rust that has bonded into the steel needs abrasive blasting, and we will tell you so rather than take the job.

How is it priced?

By the job, not the hour, so you know the number before we start. Send photographs and a rough size and a fixed price comes back, usually the same day.
